Going to camp is a very important part of Scout life.
Cubs
and Scouts
go to the main Borough Camp which is held each year at Walton Firs in
Surrey normally on the first weekend in July. They can stay overnight at
this camp.
Beavers
can also go this Borough Camp but only during the day - they cannot stay
overnight.
Scouts also go
on a variety of weekend camps throughout the year - most under canvas but
some trips are taken to youth hostels. Click below for a description of a
trip to the Youth Hostel in Manorbier in 2003.
Scouts can
also go on an annual week long summer camp during the school summer
holidays. In 2004 a group of Scouts went to Jersey for a week, and this
summer 29 Explorers, Scouts and Leaders went to Canada for two weeks.
Camps are always run by Leaders but
parents are very welcome to come along too. There will always be plenty
for you to do! Please contact
Andrew Nesbitt Group Scout Leader if you would be willing to consider
helping out in this way.
